State Senate Picks:

8) State Senate

District 5: Eastern Brookfield, Elm Grove, Wauwatosa,
Leah Vukmir, current state representative is challenging Jim Sullivan (D) (Sullivan barely beat Tom Reynolds (R) in 2006). Vukmir is unopposed in the primary and will be a great Senator.
District 33: Waukesha, Western Brookfield, Hartford, Sussex, Lisbon, SW Menomonee Falls
Rich Zipperer has done an excellent job in the State Assembly and is now running for the seat held by the retiring Senator Ted Kanavas. Zipperer has been a solid pro-life, pro-family, pro-2nd Amendment vote and will be in the Senate. His opponent, Tim Dietrich lists as his “hot button” issue “seat belts for school buses.” While this may be a valid issue, organizations such as Wisconsin Right to Life, Pro Life Wisconsin, and the NRA have endorsed Rich Zipperer. Without a Democrat opponent, the winner of the primary will likely win the seat. Interestingly, Dietrich lists on his blog that Dietrich was offerred and turned down a $2,500 donation from the Teamsters.
